Frequently Asked Questions - Masti Maja Classes

· The aim of Masti Maja classes is to introduce children to spoken Gujarati using catchy songs with contemporary music to help develop their listening and speaking skills.
· The interactive sessions are designed to allow children (and parents) to participate in fun activities, encouraging them to learn Gujarati through the repetition of memorable Gujarati rhymes and songs. Masti Maja classes provide the perfect environment in which to nurture the spoken Gujarati language through music.
· Masti Maja aims to help children to speak Gujarati confidently and this is reinforced with frequent translations to help them understand Gujarati. It does not teach children to read and write Gujarati.
· Sansaar caught the imagination of children and parents alike, so created a class which offers a unique variety of music, songs, and dance that brings the Gujarati language alive for the young.

· The Saturday morning classes are currently aimed at boys and girls, aged 3-6 years.

· The Friday morning classes are aimed at boys and girls, aged 2-5 years. (These are not currently running - please contact us if you would be interested in these classes)

· We hope to provide suitable classes in the near future for other age groups.

· Your children will start speaking more frequently and understand Gujarati through /with the aid of the catchy Gujarati songs and music.
· We all agree that music enhances learning and helps children from infancy to develop communication skills. Nursery rhymes have been used for centuries to help develop vocabulary in many languages of the world and, interaction with other children develops social skills, confidence and fun.

· No - They will enjoy and learn no matter what their ability is in Gujarati.

· Each session provides an introduction to Gujarati in a fun atmosphere. Children can learn and develop at their own pace - some may enjoy watching others before they are ready to join in.
· Each session is full of lively Gujarati songs and music - Sansaar songs and other rhymes. The children become familiar with their favourite songs after just a few classes!

· Currently,  all classes run during term-time only (approx. 12 weeks).

- The Saturday morning classes run for 45 minutes per session.

- The Friday morning classes run for 30 minutes per session. (These are not currently running - please contact us if you would be interested in these classes)

· Please visit the Masti Maja class pages for links to our different classes and prices which vary depending on the class that you select. (Sibling discounts are available).

· We welcome anyone who wishes to sample a free complimentary session. We are confident that after your child has attended the free session they will want to join the classes for the rest of the term. If you wish to continue, you can register for the remainder of the term at the end of the session, if there are available spaces.
· We do not offer classes on a 'drop in' basis. By paying in advance you guarantee your child's place in the class for the whole of the term.

· Please email details of your child’s name, date of birth and your contact information to classes@sansaar.org OR call the contact shown on the Masti Maja class information page.

· We offer a full refund if cancellation notice is given more than 14 days prior to the start of term.
· We offer 50% if cancellation notice is given more than 7 days prior to the start of term.

· There is no dress code, just comfortable clothing and shoes.
· We recommend parents to bring a drink/water.

· Yes -We recommend the parents to remain in class as they can also join in the sessions.
· If not in the class, parents are required to remain on the premises, in case of emergency.
· It has been shown that children benefit from activities in which their parents interact with them.

· Although our teachers are not necessarily musically qualified, they are experienced and trained in the Sansaar ethos. Additionally, all Masti Maja teachers are CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checked and approved.

· It is very easy to become a volunteer. Just speak to one of the class volunteers or email us at classes@sansaar.org.

· Our products are available to purchase at the Masti Maja classes or from the Sansaar website.
